A reputable library in Svalbard is seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will play a crucial role in managing and organizing our library's collection of books, media, and other resources. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1300$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the library's collection by selecting, purchasing, cataloging, and shelving materials
- Assist patrons with finding information and conducting research
- Plan and conduct library programs and events such as book clubs, storytimes, and workshops
- Keep accurate records of library materials, transactions, and patron information
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in library science
- Collaborate with other librarians to improve services and resources for patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Proven experience working as a Librarian or similar role
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of library systems, databases, and cataloging methods
- Familiarity with digital resources and technology used in libraries
- Customer service-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Experience working in academic or special libraries
- Knowledge of Norwegian language
