Preservation Architect
We are searching for a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Faro, Portugal. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures while adhering to local and national preservation laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and structures to determine their condition and preservation needs
- Develop detailed preservation plans and strategies, including budget estimates and timelines
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to oversee restoration projects
- Ensure all preservation work is carried out in accordance with local and national laws and regulations
- Conduct research on materials, construction techniques, and historical significance of buildings
- Document all preservation work through reports, photographs, and drawings
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, expenses, and materials used
- Provide guidance on appropriate maintenance techniques for historic buildings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Preservation Architect
- Strong understanding of local laws and regulations pertaining to historic preservation
- Knowledge of traditional construction methods
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluency in English (Portuguese proficiency is preferred)
Salary: 1600$ per month with accommodation provided. Visa sponsorship and travel expenses will also be covered.
