Librarian

The Faisalabad Public Library is seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization and management of our library, including maintaining our collection of books, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and developing innovative programs and services to engage the community.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging and shelving books, maintaining circulation records, and supervising library staff
- Develop and implement programs and services to meet the needs of our diverse community
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries, providing guidance on how to access information effectively
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of librarianship and recommend improvements to enhance our services
- Collaborate with schools, organizations, and other community partners to promote literacy and lifelong learning
- Participate in budget planning and management for library resources
- Ensure compliance with library policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to all library users

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Librarian in a public or academic library setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and patrons from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of library systems and database management
- Proficient in using technology for research purposes
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Familiarity with current trends in librarianship such as digital libraries, open access resources, etc.
