Sous Chef (Kenyan Nationals Only)
We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team in Acre, Kenya. As a Kenyan national, you will bring your unique cultural background and love for local cuisine to our kitchen. You will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation and cooking, as well as supervising junior kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating and implementing menus that showcase traditional Kenyan dishes
- Oversee food preparation and cooking to ensure high quality standards are met
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and sanitation practices
- Ensure all food items are stored, labeled, and rotated correctly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events and caterings
- Manage inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene at all times
Requirements:
- Kenyan nationality with a strong knowledge of local cuisine
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
- Formal culinary training or degree preferred
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Salary: $1300 per month (negotiable based on experience)
