Metal Worker



A metal worker is responsible for shaping, cutting, and joining various metals to create a variety of products. They may work with materials such as steel, aluminum, and copper to fabricate parts for machinery, furniture, or other metal products.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong attention to detail and be able to read technical drawings and blueprints. They should also have experience using hand and power tools, such as drills and grinders, to cut and shape metal pieces.

Responsibilities:
- Cut, shape, and join metal pieces using various tools and techniques
- Read technical drawings and blueprints to determine specifications for projects
- Measure and mark dimensions on metal pieces before cutting or shaping
- Operate machinery such as lathes, mills, or presses to fabricate metal parts
- Use hand tools including hammers, chisels, drills, and grinders to shape metal pieces
- Inspect finished products for quality control and make any necessary adjustments
- Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures and wearing proper protective equipment

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in welding or metalworking preferred
- Previous experience working with metal in a professional setting is a plus
- Familiarity with technical drawings and blueprints is necessary
- Ability to accurately measure dimensions using rulers or calipers
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Proficient with hand tools such as hammers, chisels, drills, etc.
- Comfortable operating machinery such as lathes or mills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
