Surveyor Assistant
As a Surveyor Assistant, you will work closely with experienced surveyors to assist in the collection and analysis of data related to land surveys. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in surveying or a related field, but we are also open to training motivated individuals with no prior experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist surveyors in conducting land surveys using various equipment such as GPS, theodolites, and total stations
- Help set up and maintain surveying equipment
- Measure distances and angles between points on land using specialized tools
- Record data accurately and organize it for analysis
- Collaborate with team members to ensure surveys are conducted accurately and efficiently
- Communicate any potential issues or discrepancies to senior surveyors
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related field preferred but not required
- Some previous experience in surveying or a related field is preferred but not required
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations
- Proficiency with surveying equipment such as GPS, theodolites, total stations, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to travel locally as needed for site visits
Salary: $1000 per month
City: Svalbard (accommodation not provided)
