Head Baker
We are a well-established bakery located in the bustling city of Oslo, Norway and we are currently seeking an experienced Head Baker to join our team. As the Head Baker, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our bakery operations and ensuring high-quality products are consistently produced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of bakers, providing training and guidance as needed
- Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations
- Develop new recipes and improve existing ones
- Oversee the baking process from start to finish, including mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with other departments to plan menus and specials
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Baker or similar role in a high-volume bakery
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve production goals
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Baking/Pastry Arts or related field
- Knowledge of Norwegian baking traditions is a plus
- Experience with sourdough bread making is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1800 per month for this full-time position. Accommodation is not provided but we do offer free visa processing and airfare for international candidates.
