Indian Pastry Chef in Nairobi
We are in search of a skilled Indian Pastry Chef to join our team in Nairobi. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts and pastries, both traditional and modern, with an Indian influence. Your main duties will include mixing and baking ingredients, decorating and plating desserts, and ensuring high quality and consistency in all products.
To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for pastry-making and knowledge of Indian flavors and techniques. You should also have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, excellent time-management skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Creating new pastry recipes with an Indian twist
- Preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and frostings
- Baking, decorating, and plating desserts according to menu specifications
- Ensuring all products are of high quality and presented attractively
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pastry station
- Managing inventory of ingredients and ordering supplies when needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or related role
- Knowledge of Indian flavors and techniques
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong time-management skills
- Creativity to develop new dessert ideas
- Attention to detail for plating and presentation
- Excellent teamwork skills
