Database Administrator


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Alta, Norway. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security, reliability, and optimal performance.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database software
- Monitor database performance and make necessary adjustments
- Ensure data integrity and security
- Develop and implement backup and recovery plans
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Maintain data standards and ensure compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with other teams to design and implement new databases or updates to existing ones

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
- Proficient in SQL programming language
- Experience with data backup, recovery, and security protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred:
- Certification in database administration (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional)
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash)

Salary: $1800/month

Location: Alta, Norway

This is a full-time position without accommodation provided. Applicants must have their own visa or be eligible to work in Norway.
