Part-Time Interpreter for Indian Community in Jerusalem


We are hiring a part-time interpreter to support our Indian community in Jerusalem. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between English-speaking individuals and our community members who may not have strong English proficiency. This role is perfect for someone who is fluent in both English and an Indian language and has a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services during meetings, events, and other interactions between English-speaking individuals and our Indian community members
- Assist with translating written documents from English to an Indian language and vice versa
- Help bridge cultural gaps by explaining cultural norms and customs to both parties
- Maintain confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive information
- Attend regular trainings to improve interpreting skills and stay updated on industry standards

Requirements:
- Fluency in both English and an Indian language (Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous experience as an interpreter or translator preferred
- Knowledge of cultural nuances within the Indian community
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism
- Must be able to work part-time hours, including evenings and weekends if needed

Compensation:
This is a part-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $1300 per month. As this role does not include accommodation, it is ideal for someone currently living in or near Jerusalem.
