Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for the preservation and restoration of historic buildings and structures in the city of Alta. Your main duties will include conducting research, preparing reports and plans, overseeing construction projects, and ensuring that all preservation work is carried out in accordance with local and national regulations.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in preservation architecture
- Knowledge of local and national preservation regulations
- Experience working on historic building restoration projects
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Conducting research on the history and architecture of buildings slated for preservation or restoration
- Preparing detailed reports outlining the current condition of historic structures and making recommendations for preservation or restoration efforts
- Collaborating with other architects, engineers, contractors, and government officials to develop plans for preserving or restoring historic buildings
- Overseeing construction projects to ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with approved plans and regulations
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise during construction
- Maintaining accurate records of all preservation work performed on historic structures
- Keeping up-to-date with changes to local and national preservation regulations to ensure compliance in all projects
Salary: $1300/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Alta, Norway (free visa sponsorship available)
