Chef de Cuisine
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Chef de Cuisine to join our team at our restaurant in the bustling city of New York, USA. As our Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for leading and managing our kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff training. You will work closely with our Executive Chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and that our guests have an exceptional dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus that are innovative, seasonal, and in line with current food trends
- Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques and safety procedures
- Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on special events or catering functions as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to create unique dishes while also adhering to budget constraints
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure well
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years experience working as a chef
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Salary: $1500/week
