Contract Database Administrator - Svalbard

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our team in Svalbard on a contract basis. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, managing, and securing our company's databases. Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database software
- Monitor database performance and optimize as needed
- Back up and restore data regularly
- Ensure data security and integrity
- Troubleshoot any database issues that arise
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement new database features
- Provide technical support to end users

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
- Proven experience working as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Familiarity with SQL language and database management systems (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
