Executive Chef - Svalbard
We are in search of a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in Svalbard. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and overall food quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and unique dishes while also implementing cost-effective strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus that are in line with the restaurant's concept and target market
- Ensure high-quality food standards are met by overseeing food preparation, presentation, and taste
- Manage inventory levels and control costs by implementing effective purchasing practices
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of performance and sanitation
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Norwegian is a plus)
- Valid work permit for Svalbard (or willingness to obtain one)
Salary: 1300$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
