Preservation Architect
A reputable architecture firm in the US is seeking a talented and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures, while also incorporating modern elements into their designs. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure the preservation of historical integrity while meeting modern functionality needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on the history and architectural significance of historical structures
- Develop preservation plans and proposals for clients
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure structural integrity of buildings
- Design renovations and additions that blend seamlessly with the original structure
- Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for construction projects
- Oversee construction progress to ensure compliance with preservation standards
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions of historic buildings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in preservation architecture
- Extensive knowledge of historical building materials, construction methods, and preservation techniques
- Proficient in architectural design software such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
