Preservation Architect

A Preservation Architect is responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. They work closely with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure that the preservation process meets all legal and historical standards. They must have a deep understanding of architectural history, materials, and construction techniques to effectively plan and execute preservation projects.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on the history of a building or structure
- Inspect and assess the current condition of a historic property
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local, state, and federal regulations
- Collaborate with clients to understand their goals for the project
- Work with contractors to develop cost estimates and timelines for preservation work
- Oversee the restoration process, ensuring that all work is done according to approved plans
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to clients
- Ensure that all materials used in restoration are historically accurate
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout the preservation process
- Conduct post-restoration inspections to ensure quality of work

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as an architect, preferably with a focus on historic preservation
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to historic preservation
- Strong understanding of architectural history, materials, and construction techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and government agencies
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD or Revit

Salary: $1300 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Akron, OH (open to candidates from India)
