Librarian vacancy in Alta Norway

Librarian

We are currently hiring for the position of Librarian in our library located in Alta, Norway. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials. You will also assist patrons with finding and accessing resources, as well as providing guidance on research and information queries.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of library cataloging systems and information management software
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Fluent in Norwegian (preferred) or English

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the acquisition, organization, and maintenance of the library's collection
- Assist patrons with locating materials and provide research assistance
- Develop and implement programs to promote reading and literacy among library users
- Maintain accurate records of book loans, returns, and overdue items
- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies
- Collaborate with other librarians to continuously improve services offered by the library

This is a full-time position with a salary of $1000 per month. We offer a supportive work environment that promotes growth and learning.
