Job Title: Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations at our restaurant in Bergen, Norway. You will work alongside our team to ensure high-quality and timely food preparation, as well as maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating and implementing menus
- Oversee and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques
- Monitor food inventory and orders to maintain adequate supplies
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Collaborate with the front of house team to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with both kitchen staff and front of house team members
- Must have a valid work permit for Norway
- Fluent in English, Norwegian is a plus
