Entry-Level Crane Operator in Oslo, Norway
We are hiring an entry-level crane operator to join our team in Oslo, Norway. As a crane operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of cranes to lift and move materials on construction sites and other locations. This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Operate different types of cranes such as mobile, tower, and overhead cranes according to safety standards and manufacturer instructions
- Inspect equipment before use and report any defects or malfunctions
- Safely lift and move materials to designated locations using the crane's controls
- Communicate with ground crew using hand signals or two-way radios
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform routine maintenance on the crane as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid crane operator certification from an accredited program or institution
- Physical strength and endurance to operate heavy machinery for extended periods of time
- Good hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety regulations for operating cranes
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions effectively
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience operating cranes is an asset but not required
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to work at heights
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles
- Excellent communication skills
