Indian Cuisine Chef


A renowned restaurant in Mombasa is seeking a talented and experienced Indian Cuisine Chef to join our team. As our Indian Cuisine Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes, as well as managing the kitchen operations and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis, and more
- Ensure all dishes are cooked to perfection using traditional techniques and authentic ingredients
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
- Create new menu items or modify existing ones to meet changing customer preferences or dietary requirements
- Monitor food costs and ensure profitability by minimizing waste and maintaining portion control
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Cuisine Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, culture, and cooking techniques
- Ability to create flavorful dishes using traditional spices and ingredients from scratch
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of food costs, inventory management, and portion control
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting

Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an Indian Cuisine Chef
