Executive Chef - Filipino Cuisine
Location: Nakuru, Kenya
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef who specializes in Filipino cuisine to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a high-quality dining experience for our guests through the preparation and presentation of authentic Filipino dishes. Your role will also include managing kitchen staff, overseeing food inventory and ordering, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus featuring traditional Filipino dishes, taking into account dietary restrictions and guest preferences
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques and sanitation standards
- Oversee food inventory and ordering to ensure availability of ingredients for menu items
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion sizes to maintain consistent standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Develop recipes for new menu items while also incorporating guest feedback
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events and promotions that showcase Filipino cuisine
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Filipino cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredients
- Proven track record of managing kitchen staff and maintaining quality standards under pressure
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train employees, interact with guests, and collaborate with other departments
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, ordering, scheduling, and menu planning effectively
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must have a passion for creating delicious dishes that represent the rich flavors of Filipino cuisine
