Preservation Architect - Washington, USA
We are hiring a Preservation Architect for a contract position in Washington, USA. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and landmarks. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural conservation principles and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of historical structures to determine necessary preservation and restoration work
- Developing preservation plans and strategies that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure successful execution of preservation projects
- Researching historical building materials and methods to accurately restore structures to their original state
- Monitoring progress of preservation projects and making necessary adjustments as needed
- Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies regarding project updates and approvals
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in architectural conservation or preservation work
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and historic preservation guidelines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams
This is a contract position with opportunity for extension based on project needs. The salary for this role is $1200 per week. Accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates. Biometric passport is required for international travel.
