Preservation Architect

As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients to assess the condition of buildings, develop preservation plans, and oversee restoration projects. Your main duties will include conducting site visits, conducting research on historical materials and techniques, preparing reports and proposals, and managing project budgets and timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in historic preservation, knowledge of building codes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Additionally, proficiency in architectural software and experience working with biometric passports is preferred. This is a full-time position located in beautiful Braga, Portugal where you will have the opportunity to work on diverse preservation projects and make a lasting impact on the city's rich history.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to assess the condition of historical buildings
- Conduct research on historical materials and techniques
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to building codes and regulations
- Prepare reports and proposals for clients
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, contractors, and clients
- Utilize architectural software for design purposes
- Work with biometric passports as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to historic preservation
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, visual)
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD or Revit preferred
- Experience working with biometric passports is a plus

Salary: $1400/month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Braga, Portugal - Candidates must already be authorized to work in Portugal.
