Preservation Architect
The Preservation Architect will be responsible for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historic buildings and structures in the city of Alta. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural principles, materials, and techniques used in historic preservation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preserving cultural heritage and ensuring that these buildings are maintained for future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting surveys and assessments of historic buildings to determine their condition and necessary preservation measures
- Developing and implementing plans for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historic buildings
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure proper techniques are used in preservation projects
- Reviewing construction plans to ensure compliance with preservation guidelines
- Conducting research on historical architecture and materials
- Creating reports and documentation on preservation projects
- Communicating with stakeholders such as government agencies, property owners, and community groups
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Knowledge of architectural history, conservation principles, and historic building materials
- Excellent communication skills for working with various stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to historic preservation
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in historic preservation projects or those who have completed relevant coursework. A biometric passport is required for this position. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1400 per month.
