Head Chef
As a Head Chef at our renowned restaurant in Faro, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of culinary operations. We are seeking a highly skilled and creative individual with a passion for food and strong leadership skills to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and develop menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation and cooking to ensure high-quality dishes are served
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and dishwashers
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure sanitary practices are followed
- Collaborate with management to create new dishes and improve existing ones
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper documentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Portuguese is a plus)
