Freelance Interpreter

A well-established language services company in Oslo is seeking professional and qualified interpreters to join our team on a freelance basis. As a freelance interpreter, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and industries, providing interpreting services in various settings such as conferences, meetings, and events.

Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation between two or more languages in real-time settings
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Understand the cultural nuances of both languages and accurately convey them to clients
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Manage time effectively to ensure punctuality for assignments

Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages, including English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends
- Prior experience as an interpreter is preferred but not required

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics or a related field (preferred)
- Certification from a recognized interpreting association (preferred)
- Willingness to undergo additional training and development as needed

Compensation:
This is a part-time position with an hourly pay rate of $30-$40 depending on experience. As this is a freelance role, there are no benefits or guaranteed hours. However, there is potential for growth within the company for dedicated and skilled interpreters.

Location:
This position is based in Oslo, but we also accept applications from interpreters located elsewhere who are able to travel to assignments within the city.
