Metal Fabricator

A metal fabricator is a skilled professional responsible for constructing and repairing metal structures, including buildings, bridges, and machinery. They use various tools and techniques to cut, shape, and join pieces of metal to create a finished product according to blueprints or specifications. In this role, you will primarily work with steel, but may also work with other metals such as aluminum or copper.

Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project requirements
- Measure and mark dimensions on metal pieces using rulers, calipers, or other measuring instruments
- Cut metal pieces using saws, shears, or torches
- Shape metal using machines like presses or hammers
- Join pieces together through welding, bolting, or soldering
- Smooth and polish surfaces using grinders or sanders
- Inspect materials for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
- Collaborate with other team members to assemble larger structures

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a metal fabricator or similar role
- Knowledge of different types of metal and their properties
- Ability to read blueprints and use various measuring instruments accurately
- Proficiency in operating metalworking equipment such as saws, shears, presses, etc.
- Experience with welding techniques (MIG/TIG/stick)
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and equipment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
