A reputable hotel in Nakuru is seeking a highly skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts, pastries, and baked goods. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department, developing new menu items, and ensuring quality control of all products.

Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare various desserts, pastries, and baked goods
- Develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients
- Oversee the pastry department, including managing staff and inventory
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Train and mentor junior staff members
- Monitor food costs and maintain budgeting goals
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all pastries and desserts
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Certification from a culinary institute or relevant training program preferred
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines while multitasking
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, flavors, and textures
- Good understanding of food safety standards and regulations

Salary: $1700/monthly (negotiable based on experience)
