Pastry Chef - Bungoma, Kenya
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods. Your role will involve overseeing the pastry kitchen, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring that all products meet our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare various pastries, desserts, and other baked goods according to recipes and instructions.
- Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production.
- Oversee the pastry kitchen operations including scheduling staff, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Ensure all products meet our high-quality standards in terms of taste, appearance, and presentation.
- Train new pastry team members on recipes, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with other chefs to develop new menu items or seasonal specials.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in culinary arts or related field preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen setting.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, measurements, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A creative eye for detail with the ability to present dishes in an appealing way.
- Basic understanding of food cost control measures.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Salary: $1400 per month.
