Smelter Operator


We are hiring a skilled Smelter Operator to join our team in Malindi, Kenya. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used to melt metal ores and other materials into liquid metal. This position requires experience in smelting and knowledge of safety procedures. The ideal candidate will also have strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment used for smelting metal ores, including furnaces, crucibles, ladles, and casting machines
- Monitor temperature controls and adjust as needed
- Load materials into furnaces according to specified instructions
- Remove impurities from liquid metal using various tools
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any malfunctions or issues
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Record production data and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in smelting operations
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Flexible schedule to work shifts, including nights and weekends if needed

Salary:
Salary for this position starts at $1800 per month and may increase based on experience.
