Librarian for Horsens Public Library
As a librarian at Horsens Public Library, you will play a vital role in providing access to information and promoting literacy to the community. You will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, organizing events and programs, and maintaining a welcoming and organized space for visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by selecting new materials, cataloging and shelving items, and weeding out outdated materials
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email
- Plan and organize events and programs such as book clubs, author visits, storytimes, and workshops
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment by regularly tidying shelves, displays, and workspaces
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop strategies for increasing library usage among different demographics
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in literature and technology to provide relevant recommendations and services to patrons
- Handle administrative tasks such as creating reports, managing budgets, and ordering supplies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Knowledge of library cataloging systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Proficiency with technology including computers, databases, e-readers, etc.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position based in Horsens with a salary of 1700$ per month. Accommodation is not provided but visa sponsorship can be arranged if necessary.
