Smelter Operator


As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used to melt and refine metal ores in a smelting plant. You will work with a team to ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality metals.

Responsibilities:
- Operate smelting equipment, such as furnaces, converters, and casting machines
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and flow rates of smelting processes
- Adjust controls to maintain optimal conditions for melting and refining metal
- Add chemicals or alloys to molten metal to achieve desired composition
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines
- Keep detailed records of production data and maintenance activities
- Train and mentor new smelter operators

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience working in a smelting plant or similar environment
- Knowledge of smelting processes, equipment, and materials
- Ability to read technical diagrams and follow procedures accurately
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills
- Physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1400 per month.

This role is located in Nairobi, Kenya.
