Executive Chef
The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of a restaurant or food service establishment. This role involves creating and implementing menus, managing kitchen staff, ordering ingredients and supplies, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of various cooking techniques, knowledge of international cuisine, and experience in menu planning and cost control. They should also possess excellent leadership skills and be able to effectively communicate with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop menus that are creative, innovative, and in line with the restaurant's concept
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including portion sizes, presentation, and quality
- Manage kitchen staff by providing training, guidance, and support
- Maintain inventory levels and order ingredients and supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health codes and safety standards
- Monitor food costs to ensure profitability
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking techniques and international cuisine
- Strong understanding of food cost control principles
- Ability to create new dishes while also maintaining consistency with existing menu items
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership abilities
- Must have a passion for food!
Preferred Requirements:
- Culinary degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Previous experience working in a fine dining restaurant
- Knowledge of local produce and suppliers
Salary: $1700 USD/month
Location: Shan (Preference for English-speaking candidates)
