Seamstress
As a Seamstress, you will be responsible for creating and repairing garments using a variety of different fabrics and materials. You will work closely with designers, pattern makers, and other team members to ensure that each piece meets quality standards and customer specifications. Your attention to detail and expertise in sewing techniques will be essential in producing high-quality garments.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret patterns to determine fabric layouts and garment construction
- Cut fabrics according to patterns and assemble pieces to create garments
- Operate industrial sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment to sew garments
- Make adjustments to garments as needed for proper fit and comfort
- Repair damaged or defective clothing items
- Collaborate with designers and pattern makers on new designs or modifications
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all equipment is in good working condition
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in sewing or fashion design preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a seamstress or tailor in a professional setting
- Proficient in operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment
- Knowledge of different types of fabrics, stitching techniques, and garment construction methods
- Attention to detail with strong hand-eye coordination skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members regarding garment specifications and any issues that may arise during the production process
Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Nakuru, Kenya (accommodation provided)
Preference: Nepali candidates (open to all nationalities)
