Smelter Operator


A smelter operator is responsible for operating and maintaining furnaces and other equipment used to extract metal from ore, as well as monitoring and controlling the smelting process. They must have a strong understanding of metallurgy and be able to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the smelting process.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor furnaces, kilns, and other equipment used in the smelting process
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed to prevent accidents or injuries
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and other factors to ensure efficient smelting
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the smelting process
- Monitor and adjust chemical compositions as needed
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials
- Maintain records of production levels, equipment maintenance, and other relevant data
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Strong understanding of metallurgy principles and techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols at all times
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a hot environment for extended periods of time
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must have own valid work visa if not a citizen of Mombasa

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1800$ per month.

This position is located in Mombasa, Kenya.
