Industrial Alpinist
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Alpinist to join our team in Porto, Portugal. As an Industrial Alpinist, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair work in high places, such as tall buildings, bridges, and industrial structures. This role requires a high level of physical fitness as well as technical expertise in rope access techniques and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rope access tasks such as cleaning, painting, and welding on high-rise buildings, bridges, and other structures
- Conduct inspections and assessments of structures to identify potential hazards and maintenance needs
- Install safety systems and equipment for working at heights
- Properly rig ropes and equipment for safe use during work
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work tasks
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and techniques
Requirements:
- Previous experience in industrial alpinism or rope access highly preferred
- Proficiency in using rope access equipment such as harnesses, ropes, carabiners, etc.
- Physical fitness to perform duties while suspended from heights for extended periods of time
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to all safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork
- Willingness to travel occasionally for remote work assignments
- Valid certification in industrial alpinism or rope access (e.g. IRATA or SPRAT)
- Fluency in Portuguese preferred but not required
Salary: The salary for this position is $1500 per month with accommodations included.
