Back-End Developer


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Back-End Developer to join our team in Funchal. As a Back-End Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding and modifying the server-side of our web application. You will work closely with the front-end development team to ensure seamless integration of the user interface with the back-end functionality.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain server-side code for our web application
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Write efficient, reusable and well-documented code
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner
- Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability
- Ensure data security and protection by implementing appropriate security measures
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in back-end development

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Proven work experience as a Back-End Developer or similar role
- Strong proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Java, Python or PHP
- Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Knowledge of web servers (Apache, Nginx) and Linux operating system
- Understanding of code versioning tools (Git)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
