Head Chef - Portuguese Cuisine
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef with a passion for Portuguese cuisine to join our team in Braga. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently served to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create menus that showcase traditional Portuguese flavors and ingredients
- Train and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene
- Oversee inventory and ordering of supplies to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen
- Monitor portion control and minimize waste to maintain cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with management to set targets for food costs and labor costs
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant specializing in Portuguese cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Portuguese dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with other departments and suppliers
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
