Executive Chef
Location: Vejle, Denmark
We are hiring an experienced and creative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at a high-end restaurant in Vejle, Denmark. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu creation, food preparation, and staff management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating unique and delicious dishes using locally sourced ingredients. A strong understanding of different cooking techniques and experience in fine dining is required. This is a contract position with a salary of $900 per week. Candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply if they have a passion for cooking and are willing to learn on the job.
Responsibilities:
- Create menus that reflect the restaurant's concept and showcase local ingredients
- Oversee food preparation to ensure quality and consistency
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the kitchen
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes or improve existing ones
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into menu planning
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Passion for creating innovative dishes using local ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectively
- Thorough understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Additional education or certification in culinary arts is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time contract position with potential for extension. The work schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The kitchen environment can be fast-paced and hot, with the need to stand for long periods of time. Candidates must have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
