Pastry Chef for Luxury Resort in Malindi, Kenya
We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury resort in Malindi, Kenya. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts and pastries that will delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and creating a variety of desserts and pastries for our restaurant, banquets, and special events
- Overseeing the production and presentation of all pastry menu items
- Ensuring that all desserts and pastries are made with high-quality ingredients
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Training and supervising other pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintaining a clean and organized pastry station
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to create unique dessert concepts while also adhering to menu standards
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectively
- Excellent time-management skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary: $1400/month (negotiable depending on experience)
