Database Administrator
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our company's databases. Your main duties will include installing, configuring, upgrading, monitoring, and maintaining our databases to ensure their smooth operation. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that may arise and implementing disaster recovery procedures.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong knowledge of database management systems and SQL. You should also have experience with database administration tools and techniques such as backup and recovery, performance tuning, and data encryption. Additionally, you should possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database software
- Upgrade databases to newer versions when necessary
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Ensure data integrity and security through regular backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Develop database scripts to automate routine tasks
- Collaborate with other members of the IT team to optimize database functionality
- Conduct regular audits to identify any potential issues or vulnerabilities
- Keep up-to-date with new database technologies and trends
- Provide technical support to end-users as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. Oracle, MySQL)
- Experience with SQL scripting
- Familiarity with backup/recovery methods
- Knowledge of data encryption techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
Salary: 1200$ per month
