Database Administrator

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize existing databases to ensure high performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
- Design, develop, and implement new databases based on business needs
- Collaborate with development team to define data requirements for new projects
- Monitor database performance and tune system parameters as necessary
- Ensure data security by implementing backups, recovery plans, and access controls
- Provide technical support for end users and assist with data related inquiries
- Train users on database best practices and proper use of data entry tools

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts (SQL, Oracle, MySQL)
- Experience with database design, performance tuning, backup/restore strategies
- Familiarity with data manipulation languages (e.g. SQL)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
