Head Chef - Fine Dining Restaurant (Mombasa)

Our upscale restaurant in Mombasa is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing our fine dining menu, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a fine dining establishment, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1300 per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute creative menus that showcase local ingredients and reflect current food trends
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including ordering, inventory management, and scheduling
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food preparation techniques
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety in accordance with company policies and local regulations
- Manage food costs by monitoring portion control, waste management, and inventory levels
- Collaborate with restaurant management to create seasonal promotions and special events
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into the menu as appropriate

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a fine dining restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations
- Creative flair with a passion for creating unique dishes
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of managing food costs while maintaining high quality standards
