Head Chef at a Luxury Resort in Mombasa, Kenya
As the Head Chef at our luxury resort in Mombasa, Kenya, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests. With a diverse and talented team of chefs from around the world, you will lead by example and inspire creativity and innovation in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop menus that reflect local flavors and ingredients while also catering to international tastes
- Supervise and train a team of chefs to maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service
- Monitor inventory levels and control food costs to stay within budget
- Create and enforce hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to plan events and special menus
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a luxury hotel or resort setting
- Extensive knowledge of international cuisine with a focus on local Kenyan dishes
- Creative flair for developing unique menus that cater to various dietary restrictions and preferences
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Biometric passport or ability to obtain one for international travel if necessary
We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef who is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. If you have a strong background in fine dining, excellent communication skills, and are able to thrive under pressure while maintaining high standards, we encourage you to apply. This full-time position includes a competitive salary of $1000 per month plus accommodation at our beautiful resort. Local candidates are preferred but we welcome applicants from all nationalities.
