Head Chef - Norwegian Cuisine
As a Head Chef specializing in Norwegian cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and creating traditional and modern dishes that showcase the unique flavors of Norway. Your role will require excellent leadership skills, as you will be managing a team of culinary professionals and ensuring that high-quality meals are consistently delivered to guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menus featuring traditional Norwegian dishes with a modern twist
- Supervise kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep cooks
- Train new employees on cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor food inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Collaborate with management to plan special events or themed menus
- Ensure all meals are prepared according to food safety standards and guest requests
- Oversee plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet quality standards
- Stay updated on current food trends, techniques, and ingredients
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting
- Knowledge of traditional Norwegian cuisine, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation styles
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Creativity in developing new dishes while maintaining the integrity of traditional flavors
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Salary: 1200$ per month
Location: Oslo, Norway - Candidates with Norwegian nationality preferred but not required.
