Formwork Carpenter
Formwork Carpenters are responsible for constructing and assembling temporary structures used to support concrete during the construction process. They work closely with contractors, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that the formwork is properly designed and installed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the scope of work
- Measure, cut, and shape materials according to specifications
- Install and dismantle formwork structures, including walls, columns, beams, and slabs
- Use hand and power tools to secure forms in place
- Ensure that forms are level, plumb, and aligned according to construction plans
- Pour concrete into forms and smooth surfaces using trowels or other tools
- Follow safety protocols at all times while working on-site
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Formwork Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry
- Experience working with different types of formwork systems such as wood, steel, or aluminum
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Must have accommodation in the US or be willing to relocate
Salary: $1200 per week (negotiable based on experience)
