Head Pastry Chef



We are in need of an experienced and talented Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Muharraq, Bahrain. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all pastry operations, including creating and executing new dessert menus, managing inventory and ordering, training and supervising junior pastry chefs, maintaining high food quality standards, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for creativity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative dessert menus that cater to different dietary needs and preferences
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Manage inventory levels of all pastry ingredients and supplies
- Order necessary ingredients from reputable vendors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to coordinate orders
- Attend staff meetings to discuss menu changes or other important updates
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate others
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient in creating new recipes while also following existing ones accurately

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1600 per month.

Location:
Muharraq is the third largest city in Bahrain known for its rich culture, bustling souks (markets), and delicious cuisine. It is located on an island just northeast of Bahrain's capital city Manama.
