Baker - Indian Cuisine


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Baker to join our team in Washington, specializing in Indian cuisine. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of Indian breads, pastries, and desserts using traditional methods and recipes. This is a contract position with a salary of $1200 per month, with the potential for full-time employment. No previous experience is required, but must have a passion for baking and willingness to learn. Accommodation and visa sponsorship will be provided.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake various types of Indian breads, including naan, roti, and paratha
- Create traditional Indian desserts such as gulab jamun, ras malai, and jalebi
- Mix ingredients according to recipes and make adjustments as needed
- Monitor baking process to ensure quality and consistency
- Maintain clean work area and follow food safety standards
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to plan menu items
- Train and supervise assistant bakers or apprentices

Requirements:
- Knowledge of traditional Indian baking techniques and recipes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good time management skills to ensure timely completion of orders
- Creativity to develop new menu items or adapt existing ones
- Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with other kitchen staff
- Physically fit as the job requires standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker or pastry chef in an Indian restaurant or bakery
- Culinary degree or certificate from an accredited institution
- Multilingual abilities (English plus Hindi or other regional languages)
