Preservation Architect (Contract)

As a Preservation Architect, you will play a critical role in preserving historical and cultural landmarks in Faro, Portugal. You will work on short-term contracts, using your expertise to ensure the proper restoration and maintenance of buildings and structures that hold significant value to the city. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine necessary preservation work
- Develop preservation plans and proposals that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to oversee restoration projects
- Use your knowledge of traditional building techniques and materials to ensure authenticity in preservation work
- Monitor project progress and budget to ensure timely completion within allocated funds
- Prepare reports on project status and provide recommendations for future preservation efforts
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in preservation techniques

Requirements:
- Degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working on historic preservation projects, preferably in a contract-based role
- Strong understanding of traditional building techniques and materials used in historical structures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of local regulations and guidelines related to historic preservation in Faro is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Salary:
This is a contract-based position with a salary of $900 per month.

Location:
Your work will primarily be located in Faro, Portugal. However, some travel within the city may be required for project visits.

This position does not include accommodation or visa sponsorship. Preference will be given to candidates who already have their own visa arrangements.
