Livestock Specialist - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
We are seeking a skilled Livestock Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our livestock operations, including animal health, nutrition, breeding, and production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in livestock management and a passion for animal welfare.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for optimal herd health and productivity
- Monitor and maintain strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks
- Oversee breeding programs and ensure proper record keeping
- Manage feed rations and ensure proper nutrition for all livestock
- Monitor animal behavior and implement measures to reduce stress levels
- Train and supervise farm workers in handling and caring for livestock
- Conduct regular health checks on all animals and administer necessary treatments
- Keep detailed records of herd performance and make recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with veterinarians to ensure the health of the herd is maintained at all times
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in livestock management
- Extensive knowledge of animal husbandry practices
- Strong understanding of animal nutrition
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary
- Fluent in Arabic (preferred) or English
Salary: $1500 per month
